A Prophecy of Ruin

The prophecy warns of a vampire who will rise from the ashes of a shattered kingdom. Lanira intends to make it true. She was only seven when her family burned. A child hidden among corpses, spared by the queen, and raised in silk as a silent servant to the very throne that destroyed her people. Now grown, Lanira walks the palace halls as a handmaiden-beloved, trusted, overlooked. And utterly deadly. The king fears the prophecy that speaks of a vampire king claiming his ruined crown. He believes his son's marriage will save them. Lanira knows better. She doesn't believe in fate, but she will use it. Revenge is all she has left. Until him. Ravi, the kingdom's most loyal hunter, arrives with orders and a sword blessed to kill her kind. But he sees too much. Watches too closely. And when his loyalty begins to falter, Lanira must decide if she can afford to care, or if he's just another name on her list. In a court drowning in secrets and soaked in blood, love is a dangerous game. But vengeance? Vengeance is a promise.
