??????? ????? (Abandoned Persians)

This essay takes a humorous look at the struggles and challenges Iranian immigrants face in Western countries. The cultural shock of moving to a new place often throws these reluctant migrants into ups and downs in different parts of their lives, sometimes in very funny ways. The essay is divided into several chapters, each focusing on a different part of the Persian immigrant experience. It covers things like hosting parties, going to concerts, holding political and ideological beliefs, and staying connected with their homeland. Each chapter is accompanied by cartoons that show the contradictions and challenges these Persian immigrants face while trying to live their lives in a foreign land. These drawings bring the stories to life and highlight the funny side of their experiences. Moving to another country can be a serious phycological trauma for anyone, and this book talks about that difficulty using bittersweet humor. By mixing comedy with this tough subject, it shows the resilience and irony of adjusting to life far from home.
