All of My Love for You

The poem, "All Of My Love For You," is less a narrative with a traditional plot and more a snapshot of a deeply felt emotional state. It depicts a simple, joyful moment shared between two lovers. The speaker recounts an activity, "running around with you, not knowing what to do," which signifies a comfortable and perhaps spontaneous partnership. This is followed by a specific, mundane yet intimate detail: stopping for coffee and a sandwich at a local shop. The phrase "to pinch like a cinch" suggests the effortless ease and perfect fit of their relationship. The core of the "plot" lies in the speaker's internal confession of absolute devotion. They declare their love to be unparalleled and without any "sin" other than its exclusive focus on the beloved. This intense, all-consuming affection is presented as a willing surrender, where the speaker admits to being "guilty of all of my love for you and only you." The whimsical "doo bee doo" refrain punctuates this declaration, adding a layer of lightheartedness to the profound commitment, solidifying the poem's message of pure, exclusive, and joyous love.
