Black Boy's Blues: Funny Money

Black Boy's Blues: Funny Money chronicles the real-life exploits of a young African American as he sets out on his own at the height of the 2008 recession. His search for financial independence sends him on a globe-trotting adventure from his home in the Northeastern United States to the American South, East Asia, South America, and back. Together, these eight raw and relatable tales reveal the awkward, terrifying, yet unexpectedly beautiful moments found while coming of age in a modern world. R. D. Hunter's debut collection of uncomfortably honest comics brings a strikingly real, original, and melanated voice to the medium. These narratives include explorations of race, class, and sexual identity, brought to life by a menagerie of talented international artists dripping with style. This book is a must-read for young adults and POC anxious to come into their own.
