Flash Gordon: Classic Collection Vol. 8

Science fiction's most enduring icon, Flash Gordon, returns in a newly restored edition, collecting his ongoing adventures with Dale Arden and Dr. Hans Zarkov on the mysterious planet Mongo! Escalating tensions between Flash and Ming threaten to bring about a full scale planetary war--and only Ming's estranged son-in-law Prince Barin can avert it. This latest Classic Collection reprints all of Austin Briggs Daily strips from 1940 to Sept 1944, the period considered to be his most artistic peak, restored from the original tearsheets. Briggs was a master at clean and consistent brush work in his line art that rivaled any daily strip artists of the time. He had a solid grasp of the characters and the science fiction/fantasy atmosphere that Alex Raymond first created. This beautiful hardcover format does justice to the amazing artist's body of work on Flash Gordon.
