The Chronicles of Ashfall: The Ballads of Aust

Aust has spent his life without a past. Someone else has spent generations searching for it. When a burning village draws the wandering half-orc into a trail of ancient ruins and impossible machines, forgotten places begin reacting to him as though they know exactly who he is. Aust doesn't. Joined by an unlikely group of companions, he follows the mystery across the Vaelward Reach and into the mountains, where a man from his stolen childhood is waiting. There, Aust discovers the first truth about the people he came from: Clan Vaerathin was destroyed because of him. But the reason why may be older-and far more dangerous-than anyone understands. The Ballads of Aust begins The Chronicles of Ashfall, an epic fantasy of ancient mysteries, strange creatures, chosen family, and a stubborn half-orc who has never needed to know where he came from to know who he chooses to protect.
