We Were Something: Some friendships fade. Some loves don't. Some stories wait twenty years to be finished

Twenty years after graduation, Chris Callahan receives an invitation he never expected to matter-a high school reunion back in Fordyce, Arkansas. Chris has built a life far away from the boy he used to be. He's experienced success, failure, marriage, divorce, and the hard realization that growing older doesn't always mean leaving the past behind. But returning home means facing old friends, old memories, and Amy Jackson-the girl who once meant everything to him, and the woman he left behind on graduation night. What begins as one weekend together becomes something much bigger. Old friendships come alive again. Regrets surface. Truths that have been buried for twenty years finally demand to be spoken. And Chris begins to wonder whether the best parts of life are really behind us-or whether sometimes we're given another chance to become the people we were always supposed to be. We Were Something is a story about friendship, love, regret, second chances, and the people who knew us before life changed everything.
