Dust in the Sunshine

Dust in the Sunshine is the inspiring true story of Tim Taylor, an Englishman who, after losing everything - his job, marriage, and savings in a failed franchise - finds redemption through volunteering across Nepal, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. In 2008, Tim arrives in Nepal, where the vibrant chaos of Kathmandu and the serene jungles of Chitwan National Park become the backdrop for his transformation. Immersed in conservation work, he studies biodiversity threats, battles invasive weeds and witnesses the delicate balance between tourism and nature. Along the way, he befriends passionate locals like Gopal, his jungle guide; Birendra, a Tharu cultural leader; and Sher, the visionary behind eco-projects. From elephant safaris to village weddings, Tim's journey is one of resilience, discovery and hope. This heartfelt memoir captures the beauty of Nepal, the kindness of its people, and the profound lessons learned when life forces you to start anew - proving that even in the dust of hardship, sunshine awaits.
