Zaif's Adventures - 70's Files: The Shadows of Pokhran

The story draws its pulse from the real, turbulent history of India's early nuclear research-an era marked by covert tests, international pressure, and scientific ingenuity hidden beneath layers of secrecy. From the abandoned Nanda Devi plutonium recovery mission to the clandestine preparations that ultimately led to Pokhran-I in 1974, India's journey toward becoming a nuclear power was filled with near-disasters, espionage, and geopolitical chess moves. This book reimagines those shadows of history, blending fact with thriller fiction to explore the courage, betrayal, and grit behind the attempts that shaped one of India's most defining scientific milestones. After the deadly mission at Nanda Devi, where avalanches buried secrets and spies alike, Zaif left the frozen Himalayas behind. His journey now carried him south-on a restless train cutting through the desert night toward Rajasthan. He believed the storm was over, but the sands of Pokhran were already waiting to swallow him into a darker conspiracy.
